Savile Row
Originally a small family company started in 1938, the Savile Row Company has
become today a famous luxury brandname with its own flagship shop located in the heart of Savile Row, London
and has been making finely tailored shirts ever since. Having manufactured and provided goods to many English
department stores in the past, Savile Row was unfortunately completely destroyed during the Second World War
Blitz. Nevertheless, just a year after the war ended, the business was reborn with a new emphasis placed on
menswear. Their manufacturing was then moved to Northern Ireland and enjoyed even further success, whilst
continuing to supply large, countrywide chain stores.
Savile Row today designs and produces a wide range
of clothing and accessories for Men and Women in their flagship store at 40 Savile Row, all products of which are
crafted from the highest and most refined standards of quality and workmanship. Behind many other fashion
designer's rise to fame, such as Alexander McQueen, and John Galliano for
example, the Savile Row company also made a name for itself by dressing many celebrities and
politicians such as Mikhaïl Gorbachev and members of the British Royalty such as Charles, Prince of
Wales.
As a proof of their success, Savile Row can also be found in over 30 countries
across the world.
During the most recent 5 years Savile Row have made some very challenging
marketing moves, investing over £1 million in manufacturing systems, in view of bringing a world class
quality product.
Autumn 2007 also saw the launch of Savile Row's new Women’s Wear range - an
exquisite range of versatile, femininely tailored garments with a contemporary twist.
By deciding to open their very own online shop, they have made it possible to sell
their products at prices much lower than one would associate with such impeccable tailoring.
