Petit Bateau

The Petit bateau trademark began in 1893 with hosiers Valton Quinquarlet & Sons.

One day, one of them had a flash of inspiration and came up with some designs for underwear for newly born babies: "the petit bateau knits".The purpose of this line was to make life easier for babies and their mothers.

From then on, the team expanded and went from inventions to innovations with the much celebrated underpants, the "milleraies stripe knit" and the "wool and cotton knit".

Petit bateau has created the very best basics using the finest quality of cotton. In France they are known for their "whiter whites" and delicate pastels, this is a result of having their own dying facility. They run a vertical operation by dying their own yarn, knitting the fabric and all printing and embroidery is done in house.

The huge success of this brand name led to the opening of several shops throughout France, and now the World with a very famous new line of cotton underwear and clothing for adults...
