Born in Florence, Italy in 1944, Roberto Cavalli attended the Florence Art Academy. His
career began in 1965 when he was 21 years old by painting t-shirts with a friend from his art school. He
then decided to set up a factory that would make it possible to carry out the printing. Later on,
in the early 70's, Roberto Cavalli innovated by painting straight onto the model's skin. This idea was met
with a lot of success and Italian Vogue began to take great notice of Roberto Cavalli.

Italy and other European countries. His Spring 2002 collection, shown in Milan, covered a very long catwalk with
stripes and roses, mixed up with his usual wild animal prints, slashed, decomposed and embroidered endlessly.
